Puttin’ on the Ritz!

Comments Off on Puttin’ on the Ritz!

I’ve had my head down since before Thanksgiving, focused on sewing projects. Things like this… and this… and a few like this… I am finally surfacing – and just in time for Dance season to begin! One of my more popular posts from the past is a tutorial I did on making doll tights from adult sized socks. Did you… Read more »

A new generation begins to sew!

One of the things I love best is the feeling that I am helping others to learn and enjoy sewing. I try to encourage anyone I can to this end. My patterns have been streamlined and filled with helpful tips for this purpose, as well. Recently a dear online sewing friend had a precious young niece visiting her. They… Read more »

Starlet Mermaid – Standing Lace Collar Ruffle

Settling an estate was followed by an engagement announcement for my daughter. Chase & Sharon, with Frances This brought a whirlwind of wedding planning which we’re still deeply involved in. Right now,… Read more »

Put on your thinking cap – make a fascinator!

I’ve said it before but it bears repeating – Custom Orders help us learn new things! It’s so easy to settle into a comfortable little rut. Stitching the same, favorite patterns over and over again. There’s nothing really wrong with that, at least occasionally. If, however, you’d like to be learning something new? It’s important to break away from that… Read more »

Designing Inspiration in the New Year!

Here we are at the beginning of another NEW YEAR Hard to believe it’s 2018. I am not one to make a lot of specific resolutions, but I do like to have some loose plans directions I think I’m heading, things I’d like to move away from. I celebrated with the family I am blessed to have. My Honey Bunny,… Read more »

I must apologize as it’s been some time since I made a blog post. I have been crazy busy this fall and early winter working craft shows… making custom cheer orders… getting ready for Christmas… releasing new patterns… and just basically being a sewing Super Hero! I’ve got lots of new plans for the new year but for now I… Read more »

Super Skort – roping in a western look

2 Comments on Super Skort – roping in a western look

I recently found some cool ‘faux leather’ fabric at the local Walmart. I’ve since seen the same stuff at Hobby Lobby. Billed as a ‘tooled suede’ it is reminiscent of an upholstery vinyl. It has a softer, sueded surface with the embossed western tooled motif, on a stable knit backing. Here’s what that looks like. It is predominately polyester and rayon… Read more »
